Program Overview
The Spartan Accelerated Graduate Education (SAGE) Scholars Program allows undergraduates to concurrently pursue a Multiple Subject Credential and Teaching, MAT graduate program. This combined pathway provides early exposure to graduate courses, integrating theory, practice, and K-8 subject matter to enhance professional development and prepare students for teaching careers in California. Graduates are equipped with critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to positively impact student learning and promote educational equity and social justice.

Degree Overview:
This Spartan Accelerated Graduate Education (SAGE) Scholars Program allows students to be concurrently enrolled in the Multiple Subject Credential and Teaching, MAT graduate programs as an undergraduate. The primary benefit of this combined pathway is the early exposure to graduate courses that enhance and integrate students' professional development. Undergraduates can enroll in educational theory and practice courses during the years they are developing competency in the subjects taught in K-8 classrooms. This integration of theory, practice, and K-8 subject matter allows students to comprehend and demonstrate understanding and skills in all three areas during student teaching.
