TransAtlantic Masters Program
Introduction
The TransAtlantic Masters Program is an international and collaborative two-year MA program that focuses on contemporary Europe and the transatlantic relationship. Established in 1998, the program educates students about EU institutions, European integration, and comparative politics, with a focus on pressing issues such as security, immigration, climate change, and economic disparity.
Program Structure
The program offers two degree paths:
- Dual Degree: Students receive one degree in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and one degree from a partner university, with the opportunity to specialize in climate policy.
- Single-degree Alternative: Students receive one degree in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill, spending at least one semester at UNC-Chapel Hill and up to three semesters abroad at one or more European partner sites, with the option of specializing in German-Turkish Studies.

Alumni Network
The program has a unique network of well-connected graduates, with many alumni remaining engaged with the program and contributing to its continued success. The highest concentration of graduates live and work in the Washington, DC area, with others located in major European cities such as Brussels, Berlin, and London.
Program History
The TransAtlantic Masters Program has been in operation for 27 years, providing students with opportunities to network with alumni in diverse industries, including foreign affairs, consulting, environmental advocacy, and more.
