Services

Student services

The Office of Student Life is the umbrella body for the Students' Union, Clubs and Societies in Dublin City University. It is based in the student Centre - The Hub - which houses its staff and facilities, including meeting rooms, computer facilities, a large venue and many other support services vital for a vibrant student life on campus.

Housing services

  • International undergraduate students are allocated rooms in Hampstead and College Park Apartments on the Glasnevin campus or Purcell House on the All Hallows campus.
  • Our Postgraduate Centre offers high quality accommodation for over 100 postgraduate students in the heart of the research community on campus. Rental accommodation at the Centre is in 37 secure, comfortable apartments with 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms (each bedroom with bathroom).

Library services

  • O’Reilly Library is located on the Glasnevin Campus. Students in Nursing, Business, Sciences, Maths, Engineering, Law & Government, and Communications will find a huge range of tailored print resources available to them.
  • Cregan library is located on the DCU St Patricks Campus and provides excellent collections and services to students who are based on the St Patrick’s Campus.

ICT services

The mission of the Information Systems Services is to collaborate with the DCU Community to transform the University through the integration and implementation of technology into many aspects; Teaching and Learning & Research Activity and Administration, while empowering all staff and students on all our campuses to work and learn collaboratively in new and exciting ways.

Medical services

The Student Health Service is a Nurse-Led service, providing on-campus primary healthcare to currently registered students of DCU. We take care of the physical, psychological and social aspects of student health and health promotion. This service is delivered in a caring and confidential manner.

Student Life

Campus life

DCU is a multi campus university - the Glasnevin, St Patrick's and All Hallows campuses. The St Patrick's campus is where the Education courses are taught and some of the subjects from the BA Joint Honours degree. There is a 20-25 minute walk between the campuses but there are buses available to go between them also.

Sports facilities

DCU Sport offers state of the art facilities incorporating health and wellness to meet all your exercise and leisure needs. DCU Sport comprises the University Sports Complex, the DCU Sports Grounds and our 5-a-side Soccer Centre. We have a wide range of facilities at the University Sports Complex, including pool, tepidarium, sauna, steam room, spa pool, sports halls and studios as well as a fitness centre with over 100 pieces of equipment.

Student clubs

The Hub is the social centre of student-based activities and services. The student union is based here, as well as other services such as travel shop, bookshop, recreational areas and venues for student events. This is a vibrant and energetic place for students to meet, socialise and make friends.

As well as over 100 Clubs and Societies, the Students Union also runs (usually massive) events all throughout the year. Orientation Week 09 for instance had the Lock and Key Ball, County Colours Night, Michael Jackson Ball, an old time Ceili and PJ Gallagher doing a stand up comedy night. And thats just the first week.

Accreditation

DCU Business School has been awarded accreditation by the world’s oldest and most prestigious global accrediting body for business schools.  Endorsement by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) is widely recognised as the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business schools including London Business School, Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduation School of Business.  DCU is only the second Irish university to receive this validation, joining UCD’s Smurfit Business School.
