The campus of Southwest Minnesota State University is lively and varied as students have registered over 70 student clubs that range from cultural organisations to social justice collectives. Campus Life


Southwest Minnesota State University guarantees on-campus housing for all first-year students who apply for on-campus accommodation by the priority deadline. The University offers fully furnished accommodation with high-speed internet and houses three traditional residence halls on campus: Birch, Sweetland, and Individualized Learning Center (ILC). Each hall offers double and single rooms with shared bathrooms. There are also two suite-style residence halls - McFarland and Sisqóó, which have a common area for each suite and the choice to live with three or five students. SMSU has two apartment-style housing options - Mustang Village and SMSU Apartments.




Employability

Southwest Minnesota State University students are well-prepared for the workforce as they are offered internships, experiential learning opportunities, co-op programs, and more opportunities to enhance their employability. Real-world projects are incorporated into the business programs at the University, and education programs include field experiences, so this practical focus empowers graduates with work readiness. The Career Services Center is active on campus in offering CV assistance and interview preparation or helping students to connect with future employers via networking or career fairs.
