Services
Student services
University is a big step with many rewards, but also challenges. Counselling can be helpful for all kinds of difficulties, both academic and personal. You could be dealing with something serious that you've struggled with for many years, or it could be something small which has happened recently. Maybe you don't even know exactly what the problem is, but are finding it difficult to cope.
Housing services
The NUI Galway Accommodation Office are here to help you in your search for a place to live. The staff can help you find appropriate accommodation in Student Residences, flats, apartments or houses. They can also help if problems arise with property owners.
Library services
The main Library building of NUI Galway is named after James Hardiman, born in 1782, noted antiquarian and author of the standard history of Galway and other works and first Librarian of the College (1849-1855).
The Library contains 540,000 printed books, with the total stock being nearer to 700,000 volumes.

Accreditation
All of the professional accountancy bodies in Ireland have different routes to qualification but they all require you to complete a course of study with examinations and a period of relevant supervised work experience. In total, there are nine recognised professional accountancy bodies in Ireland with the four largest being: Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (ICPAI). Our courses are accredited with the professional accountancy bodies and students who specialise in accounting can benefit from significant exemptions.
