Miami University Regionals are community-based higher education campuses in Hamilton, Middletown and West Chester, Ohio. The provider is a branch of Miami University and offers 30 majors for around 3,000 students. Subjects provided include Arts, Humanities and Communication, Engineering Math and Technology, Health and Science, Human Services, Education, Leadership and Business.

After opening in the 1960s, the Regionals supplied higher education opportunities for the local community. Today the institution has a growing international reputation. It was named in the Top 10 Public Colleges in Ohio with the Best Return on Investment in 2019.

Miami University Regionals has many high quality resources and facilities to support modern learning. Computer labs are available at the Hamilton and Middletown campuses. Here students can access computers, quick wifi and printers. The university also has IT equipment to borrow from the computer labs. Students will also find books and additional course resources at the Regionals libraries.

Outside of academic study, students can take part in various sports activities. On campus students can use the various sports and fitness facilities. These include a Fitness Center, a gymnasium, tennis courts, softball diamond, soccer field and a baseball field.

Campus Life

At Miami Regionals, students enter a vibrant community that accepts people of all ages and those in different career stages. The small campuses provide an intimate and friendly atmosphere that is very inclusive.

In addition, student life is active and students have many opportunities to get involved in university life. The university runs various cultural programs and there are over 30 clubs and organisations to join. Sports clubs are also available to join and the university’s sports teams compete at a collegiate level.


Currently, none of the Regionals’ campuses offers on-site accommodation for international students. Instead, students can find a local house or flat shares or stay with a host family nearby. However, the university does have some housing options for students with disabilities. The Disability Support team can help students with housing options during their application process.


Miami University Regionals supports students from their transition from study to working life. The institution offers careers support during a student's degree program. Students can access professional development workshops and advice and work opportunities. Between 2020 and 2021, 98% of bachelor’s graduates found employment, enrolled in further education or were serving in the military. Also, 90% of graduates contribute to Ohio’s regional development and live in the state.

City life

One of the Regionals campuses is in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. Hamilton is 20 miles north of Cinicinati and it has various entertainment through art and culture. Students can visit the thirty acres of sculptures at Pyramid Hill, view art at the Fitton Center and watch live music at the RiversEdge Amphitheatre. In downtown Hamilton, there are many cafes, restaurants, shopping centres and bars.

The second campus in Middletown and the town has several top-rated attractions. For instance, the Ohio Challenge hosts a summer hot air balloon festival, while Light Up Middletown provides a yearly, winter drive-through light display. Also, students are close to the Middletown Parks System, where they can find hiking routes and further recreational activities.
