Introduction to the Junior School Enrichment Program
The Junior School Enrichment Program, also known as Program Pengayaan Cuti Sekolah (PPCS) PERMATA@Pintar UKM, is a two-week enrichment and acceleration program designed for gifted students in Malaysia. The program is developed by PERMATA@Pintar Negara, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPPN-UKM), to cater to the learning needs of gifted students.
Program Objectives and Philosophy
The program is based on the National Education Philosophy, which emphasizes the holistic development of students in terms of physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. The program aims to provide a challenging and stimulating environment for gifted students to develop their potential.

The program is conducted by trained educators, teaching assistants, and student assistants who have received special training from experts at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, including training at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) in the United States. During the two-week program, students participate in academic and co-curricular activities, including arts and sports, spiritual programs, and educational visits.
Admission Criteria and Student Selection
Students selected for the program are between 9 and 12 years old and come from diverse ethnic and socio-cultural backgrounds. They are selected based on two screening tests: UKM1 and UKM2. The program offers 40 courses, reflecting its commitment to providing enrichment and acceleration programs that empower gifted students for lifelong learning.
