The course provides a pathway into the Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), which is then a pathway to the Bachelor of Psychology. In this undergraduate certificate, you'll study four subjects from the Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) and when you transition into that bachelor's, you'll receive credit for the subjects you've already completed in your certificate.


What You Will Study

  • For each 8-point subject, you should expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week working on assignments and assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, and attending lectures, intensive schools, or examinations.
  • Intensive school: You may need to attend an online or on-campus intensive school for certain subjects in this course.

      • PSY101: Foundations of Psychology 1 (8 credit pts)
      • PSY102: Foundations of Psychology 2 (8 credit pts)
      • PSY114: First Nations Australians and Psychology: An Introduction (8 credit pts)
      • PSY115: An Introduction to Research, Ethics and Reasoning (8 credit pts)

Costs

    • Course Fees: If you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, and meet the relevant citizenship and residency requirements, you may be eligible for a Commonwealth supported place.
    • Payment Options:

      2. Pay part of your student contribution to the university and defer the balance via a HECS-HELP loan through the Australian Government (if eligible).

Entry Requirements

  • Academic entry requirements:
    • A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent).
    • A completed AQF Certificate III or higher, studied at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or equivalent.
    • A completed Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) or bridging program studied at a TAFE, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or University, or equivalent.
    • Work experience of at least two years full-time equivalence within the same industry as the course profile as evidenced by a detailed resume.
    • Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).
  • Language requirements: Standard English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements apply.
