Master of Communication (Journalism) Program

The Master of Communication (Journalism) program is a comprehensive course that requires students to complete a specific number of points to graduate.

Program Structure

Students entering the course without credit are required to complete 128 points, which includes:

• 2 x Foundation Communication core subjects (CCI501 and CCI504: 48 points)
  • These core subjects provide a foundation in communication principles and practices.
• A minimum of one further Foundation Communication subject (CCI500 / 502)
  • This subject provides additional knowledge and skills in communication.
• 3 x Journalism Specialisation subjects (48 points)
  • These subjects focus on journalism principles, practices, and techniques.

Credit Recognition

Students entering the course with 32 points of credit are required to complete 96 points, which includes:

• 2 x Foundation Communication core subjects (CCI501 and CCI504: 48 points)
  • These core subjects provide a foundation in communication principles and practices.
• A minimum of one further Foundation Communication subject (CCI500 / 502)
  • This subject provides additional knowledge and skills in communication.
• A minimum of 2 x Journalism Specialisation subjects
