Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours)

Course Overview

The Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours) is designed to provide students with the opportunity for advanced study in psychology. This course provides an avenue to postgraduate training and satisfies the minimum academic requirements for provisional registration as a Psychologist.

Normal Course Duration

  • Full-time: 1.0 years (2.0 sessions)
  • Part-time: 2.0 years (4.0 sessions)
  • Normal course duration is the effective period of time taken to complete a course when studied Full-time (Full-time Equivalent: FTE).

Admission Criteria

  • Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited three-year sequence (either an APAC accredited undergraduate program or an APAC accredited Graduate Diploma) within the previous five years
  • A Grade Point Average of 6.0 or better in an APAC accredited Graduate Diploma or in the core psychology level 2 and 3 subjects of an APAC accredited undergraduate program
  • The successful completion of PSY301 Advanced Research Methods in Psychology or PSY461 Advanced Research Methods in Psychology
  • Or the equivalent of the above three requirements from another institution

Credit

  • No special arrangements apply

Graduation Requirements

  • To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.
