University Master's Degree in Active Ageing and Health
The University Master's Degree in Active Ageing and Health is a postgraduate program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles related to active ageing and health.
Admission Profile
The access and admission profile is linked to the following degrees: Nursing, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Medicine, Psychology, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy.
Entrance Requirements
According to the Regulations of the University of Alicante, the following requirements must be complied with to have access to official taught Master's degrees:
- To be in possession of a Spanish Official Graduate Degree Certificate or other issued by an institution of higher education within the EHEA (European Higher Education) that enables the holder to have access to Master's degrees in the issuing.
- To be in possession of an officially approved Foreign Higher Education Degree Certificate that had been recognised as equal to the degree that allows access to the requested studies.
- To be in possession of a University Degree Certificate obtained in a University or Higher Education Institution of countries outside the EHEA, without the prior approval of their studies.
- Students enrolled in an undergraduate programme at a university in the EHEA or in a university system with which an equivalence agreement is in force may be admitted on a conditional basis.
Admission Criteria
The academic committee of the master's degree will meet at the beginning of the academic year to assess the admission applications. In order to determine admission, the degree or equivalent qualification that the candidate presents as an access qualification will be taken into account, which will be assessed in the following way:
- Degrees or equivalent in Nursing, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Medicine, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy: 4 points
- The subjects of the access academic records presented will be assessed in the following way:
- Pass: 1
- Merit: 2
- Excellent: 3
- Honours: 4
Admission Criteria Weightage
- Academic record (with special emphasis on subjects related to the Master's Degree): 70%
- Reasoned letter stating the reasons why the student wishes to take this course: 20%
- Postgraduate training related to the Master's Degree: 10%
Pre-registration and Registration
Students interested in studying an officially recognised Master's Degree at the UA must fill in a pre-enrolment application within the deadlines and terms established annually in the corresponding call for applications. Pre-registration is done exclusively through UACloud by filling in the form available for this purpose.
Number of Places
The maximum number of students to be admitted to the programme will be 30, and the minimum number for its implementation will be 15.
Credit Recognition and Transfer
The University of Alicante Regulations on Credit Recognition and Transfer in Official Studies is currently in the process of adaptation to Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28 September. Credit recognition and transfer will be assessed based on the student's academic record and the subjects taken in previous official studies.
