Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Program

The Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education that satisfies the requirements of the modern aerospace industry, airlines, and other industries utilizing novel technologies. The program prepares students to meet the needs of scientific institutions for research, design, development, and maintenance of aircraft and rockets.

Program Description

The program is based on a thorough knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics, including combustion processes, materials and manufacturing technology, with a particular focus on those used in the aerospace industry, basic electronics, and information sciences, including CAD.

Curriculum

The curriculum is structured as follows:

  • The first year focuses on mathematics, physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, and computer science.
    • Students also learn electric circuits, foreign language, and non-technical subjects, such as economy.
  • The second year core subjects include:
    • Fundamentals of mechanical design
    • Control engineering
    • Foreign language
    • Specialization subjects, such as aeronautics and astronautics, for students in the aeronautics program.
  • The third year is more specialized, with a focus on:
    • Aeronautical systems
    • Mechanics of flight
    • Materials for aerospace technologies
    • Propulsion systems
    • Rotorcrafts
  • The last half of the year in the 3.5-year program is devoted to supervised work on an engineering diploma thesis.

Objectives

The objectives of the study are to create solid fundamental engineering knowledge during the first year, and then to delve deeper into the problems related to the subject of study. Graduates are prepared to work in industry and to solve engineering problems, which are demonstrated through the diploma thesis. Each diploma thesis is reviewed by two reviewers and defended in the presence of a commission consisting of professors and assistant professors.

Specializations

Starting in 2023, there are two specializations in Aerospace Engineering:

  • Aerospace Propulsion Systems (APS)
  • Aerospace Structures and Systems (ASS)

Curriculum for Different Intakes

There are different curricula for students starting the BSc Engineering program in different years:

  • For students starting in October 2025 and later
  • For students starting in October 2023 and October 2024
  • For students starting in October 2022 and earlier
