BIOL.5420 Advanced Cell Biology
Description
This is an advanced course in cell biology. In this course, we will examine different areas of eukaryotic cell biology, including:
- Membrane structure and function
- Cell adhesion
- Intercellular communication
- Signal transduction
- Chemotaxis
- Receptor-mediated endocytosis
- Intracellular trafficking
Mechanisms underlying relevant human diseases will also be discussed. Upon completion of the course, the student will have a strong understanding of cell biology, develop critical thinking processes, proficiency in scientific reading, and how to communicate material succinctly.
