Master in Sustainable Systems
This program is designed to develop future-ready professionals who can lead and innovate in sustainability practices, policy development, and green technology integration. Students will explore topics such as life cycle assessment, green economy, industrial ecology, and sustainability management and policy, while building critical skills in research, analysis, digital solutions, and collaborative problem-solving. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and expertise to address global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and excel in sustainability-focused careers across industry, government, and research sectors.
Mode of Programme
The Master in Sustainable Systems program is offered in a Taught Course/Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
Duration of Programme
The program duration is 2-8 semesters, subject to the current lesson plan and UTM academic regulations.
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in science, technology, or engineering or its equivalent, recognized by the University Senate.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least a CGPA of 2.50.
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent but does not achieve at least a CGPA of 2.50; must have five (5) years of work experience in a relevant field.
Admission through APEL
Candidates with an APEL.A T7 certificate can be considered for admission, subject to faculty approval.
English Requirements for International Students
International students must meet the English language competency requirements:
- Malaysia University Entrance Test (MUET) with a minimum score of Band 4.0 and above.
- IELTS with a minimum score of Band 6.0 and above.
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 60 and above.
- Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE), with a minimum score of 169 and above.
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with a minimum score of 59 and above.
- Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) achieving Level 109 and above.

Notes
All fees are subject to changes. The study fee rate will be determined based on the number of credit hours registered within the period for Amendment of Course Registration. Course Withdrawal after the Amendment of Course Registration period will not affect the fees for the semester.
