The Faculty of Computing at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) offers various programs and research initiatives.

Program Details
One of the programs offered is the Kembara Scratch 1.0, a knowledge transfer program that aims to teach basic programming skills to primary school students using the Scratch software.
Program Description
The Kembara Scratch 1.0 program is a collaboration between Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Skudai and the Faculty of Computing at UTM. The program is a continuation of the successful Bengkel Aplikasi Scratch 1.0, which was previously led by Dr. Farkhana Muchtar.
Program Activities
The program was held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Skudai and attracted the participation of 50 students from five primary schools in the Johor Bahru area. The program began at 8:00 am and ended at 5:00 pm. The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Madya Dr. Siti Zaiton binti Mohd Hashim, Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Computing, and was also attended by Encik Wan Hafizi bin Wan Hazit, Assistant Education Officer of the Johor Bahru District Education Office.
Research and Innovation
The Faculty of Computing at UTM is also involved in various research and innovation initiatives, including the development of smart technologies such as the Smart Aquafarm Feeder and Monitoring System in Highly Turbid Conditions, and the Holo Professor, a real-time holographic telepresence technology.
Awards and Achievements
The faculty has received several awards and grants, including the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) Grant and the National Geran FRGS 2024.
Innovations
The faculty has also developed several innovations, including the D.I.A.N.A Intelligent Avatar X Proto M, a smart hologram avatar that operates in real-time.
