Course Completion

After completing the course, the student understands the basic factors that shaped the development of Europe and how they continue to influence the development of societies and cultures. The student understands the problematics of periodization and can critically identify long continuities and turning points.

Completing the course requires that the student is familiar with the basic phenomena and event history of the period covered in the high school history curriculum or has equivalent knowledge. This knowledge is not repeated in the course, but the student must acquire it by the time of completion.
