IDDDP in Management Program
The Inter-Disciplinary Dual Degree Program (IDDDP) in Management is an MBA with specialization offered to 4th-year B.Tech/BS/Dual Degree students of IITB. After successful completion of the program, participants receive a B.Tech in their branch and an MBA with their chosen specialization.
Program Description
The IDDDP in Management is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of management principles and practices. The program is offered in two specializations: Finance and Operations Management.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Be in their 4th year of B.Tech/BS/Dual Degree at IITB
- Have a minimum CPI of 7.5 at the end of their 6th semester
- Not have any backlog in their UG courses
- Indicate their preferences for different specializations
- Go through a shortlisting process based on CPI and a final selection process based on an interview
Intake
The intake for the program is 10 students for each specialization, totaling 20 students.
Curriculum Description
The curriculum consists of:
- Fundamental Courses (30-46 credits)
- Specialization Courses (30-33 credits)
- Elective Courses (12-44 credits)
- Mandatory Summer Internship of 2 credits
- Mandatory 12-credit project in the area of specialization
Summer Internship and Final Placements
Students will join SJMSOM MBA students for summer internships and final placements. The summer internship starts in the first week of May.
Program Fee
- During the 4th year, students will continue to pay B.Tech/BS/DD fees
- Upon migration to the program, students will pay a fee for the 5th year as per the fee structure applicable to 2nd-year MBA students of SJMSOM, IIT Bombay
FAQs
- Preparation for Demanding Courses: Students without a background in business can still be prepared for the more demanding courses.
- Specialization Selection: Students must decide on their choice of specialization and select only one specialization at the time of submitting the application.
- Placement Opportunities: IDDDP students will have the same placement opportunities as full-fledged MBA students with similar specializations.
- Project Undertaking: The selection process will consider projects undertaken by students, but it is not compulsory to have a project at the time of application.
- Placement through PT Cell IITB: Students need to check with the Prof-in-Charge of IIT placement or IIT placement cell regarding placement opportunities through PT Cell IITB.
- Specialization Jobs: Students will be eligible for jobs that do not require specialization, but may not be eligible for jobs that require a different specialization.
- Interview Round: The number of students selected for the interview round depends on the number of applications.
- Process Timeline: The interview process may be scheduled in the last week of June or the first week of July.
- Professor as Guide: It is not compulsory to have a professor as a guide at the time of application.
- Guide's Background: The guide for the IDDDP project must be from the concerned area (Finance or Operations Management), but a co-guide can be from another area if required.
