Contenu
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) instructor course aims to familiarize participants with teaching methods and evaluation tools for an NRP course.
Exigences
To be eligible, participants must:
- Have successfully completed an advanced NRP course from the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) within the last 12 months
- Have passed the 8th edition virtual exam of the NRP within the last 12 months
- Provide proof of certification and a completed "Letter of Support from the Establishment"
Objectifs généraux
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify relevant pedagogical principles for the NRP course
- Lead a skills integration workshop
- Evaluate individual performance using the ÉPI tool
- Facilitate a simulation session
- Manage administrative tasks as an NRP instructor
Préparation préalable
Participants must read and master the content of the 8th edition Neonatal Resuscitation Manual and complete an online simulation learning module.
Certification
To obtain certification as an NRP evaluator, participants must:
- Successfully complete the course
- Be supervised by an NRP evaluator or designated substitute within 6 months of completing the course
- Complete the evaluator registration form and pay the registration fee
Pour qui
The course is open to physicians, nurses, midwives, and respiratory therapists. Other healthcare professionals approved by their provincial or regional NRP committee may also be eligible.
Formateur
The course is taught by NRP evaluators (master instructors) who are up-to-date with CPS standards.
Tarif
The course fee is $1,315.00 per person, excluding taxes.
Accréditation
The course is accredited by the Centre de formation continue (CFC) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke, which is recognized by the Comité d'agrément de l'éducation médicale continue (CAÉMC). Participants will receive an attendance certificate for 7 hours of accredited training.
