Doctorate in Psychoeducation
The doctorate in psychoeducation is a thematic program oriented towards adaptation difficulties from childhood to early adulthood and towards psychoeducational intervention. It aims to highlight the specific theme of adaptation difficulties in children, adolescents and young adults.
Program Objectives
The doctorate in psychoeducation allows:
- to address best practices in the prevention and treatment of adaptation difficulties by considering different social, family and school contexts;
- to follow educational activities directly linked to psychoeducation, both theoretically and methodologically, in connection with the skills of the teaching staff;
- to propose new training objectives and educational strategies adapted to the new program.
Training and Research
The training is anchored in its environment, thus responding to the mission of educational and social organizations which offer services to children, adolescents and adolescents in difficulty. Research in psychoeducation is a particularly relevant and timely strategy to enable significant improvement and meet the challenge of intervention with young people who have adjustment difficulties.
Understand, Detect, Prevent, Intervene
The program pays particular attention to the adaptation and maladjustment of children, adolescents, young adults in difficulty and their families. The conduct of research is anchored in their social, family and school life contexts.
Research, Dissemination and Transfer of Knowledge
The Department of Psychoeducation can count on the Research and Intervention Group on Social Adaptations in Childhood (GRISE), recognized as a research center of excellence at the University of Sherbrooke. GRISE benefits from privileged partnerships with practice environments and is recognized for its tangible collaborations with professional intervention environments in psychoeducation.
