Learning Outcomes
- Summarise the acute and chronic physiological (metabolic, cardiorespiratory and neuroendocrine) responses to given exercise training and detraining.
- Explain how, and to what extent, endogenous (age, sex, health) and exogenous (nutritional, environmental) modifying factors influence physiological responses to exercise.
- Interpret a range of physiological variables and then design and communicate appropriate exercise interventions to modify them.
- Utilise a range of techniques for the practical assessment of energy expenditure and physiological capacities.
