The learning outcomes for this unit are as follows:


  1. Define coastal areas from a management and policy perspective.
  2. Apply collaborative decision-making skills for managing complex coastal problems.
  3. Formulate possible strategies for improving coastal policies by referencing specific methods, approaches, and principles of environmental policy.
  4. Critically analyse and compare coastal policies of Asia-Pacific regions, including Australia.
  5. Evaluate the role of nature-based solutions for improving coastal management and climate change adaptation.
