Narrative Film Production
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Theatre and Film offers extensive training and experiential learning opportunities for Film and Performing Arts students in narrative film. Students can participate in production through courses as well as student-led productions as writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, production designers, gaffers, sound location mixers, composers, script supervisors, costume designers, etc. The program works as a small film production company, and students work together to make films that make an impact.

Facilities
In addition to the UAF Salisbury Theatre, the Film and Performing Arts Film Production Studio, and the Alaska Media Lab, the program uses the whole of Fairbanks and Alaska as its facilities as part of film productions.
Faculty
Maya Salganek
Director of FRAME, Department Head, and Associate Professor of Film/Video Arts. Maya has been involved with the UAF theatre department since 2001. Her courses include:

- Cross-Cultural Filmmaking Feature-Film production credits include co-Producer for Chronic Town (2008) featured at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Associate Producer for Dear Lemon Lima (2009), Producer for Alaskaland (2011), Director of Photography for The Messenger, and executive producer of Mining for Ruby (2013).
