UEF MOOC Effectiveness from a Social and Healthcare Perspective
The Impact online course provides the basics of impact topics and related key concepts, definitions, and comprehensive impact assessment. The online course guides the use of different measurement methods and research settings in effectiveness evaluation. It also presents effectiveness-themed approaches from various fields of science, including the effectiveness of social and health services, the effectiveness of medical treatment, and cost-effectiveness. The course also discusses how impact information can be utilized in decision-making and prioritization in social and health care, as well as examining the impact of legislation. The importance of reliable information is emphasized in both daily decision-making and the evaluation of the effectiveness of social and health services. Therefore, as many people as possible should have the necessary skills and abilities to evaluate when impact information is needed, to use and critically evaluate the information, and to understand the perspectives of different sciences in utilizing the information.
Course Details
- Anyone interested in the online course and its content can complete it and receive an Unofficial certificate from the University of Eastern Finland.
- To receive a completion mark and credits (3 credits), you must enroll as a student in the Open University of the University of Eastern Finland and pay the course fee (20/credit).
- The Open University Grants the right to study, after which the study completion is recorded in the study register. After that, you can request an official transcript of the study completion from the Open University.
- Students Pursuing a degree at the University of Eastern Finland can include the MOOC course in their degree in accordance with the university's own guidelines. For degree students, the course is free of charge. Degree students make a course enrollment through Pepi, where the course can be found under the name "Vaikuttavus (MOOC): Degree students 3 credits".
