  • Modules are subject to change and availability.
  • You’ll show your progress through a combination of written and practical work, carried out individually and as part of a team.

Entry Requirements

  • A good honours degree (or equivalent), normally in a related subject. Applicants with professional experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
  • You need to submit a digital portfolio for this course. You are welcome to arrange a face to face portfolio review and tour.

Fees and Paying for University

  • Tuition fees for UK students (2025/26): £9,800 (full-time, per year)
  • Tuition fees for international students (2025/26): £19,500 (full-time, per year)
  • ARU graduates may be eligible for an Alumni Scholarship and get a 20% fee discount.
  • Fees are payable upfront, in full or in instalments, but there's no need to pay until you've accepted an offer to study with us.

  • Our MA Games Development (Art) gives you the chance to specialise in the design and technical implementation of computer games, whether you already have a games-related degree, you’ve recently graduated with a degree in a related subject, or you work in another creative industry and are looking to move into this area.
  • The skills you’ll learn are relevant to other forms of games – including board and educational games – allowing you to consider various career options in these areas too. You might also pursue roles in gamification, user experience (UX), visual effects (VFX) or project management.
  • While you’re studying here and after you graduate, you can access support through our dedicated Employability Service.
  • Graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your time with us. You could choose to continue your academic career with a PhD programme at ARU. Take advantage of our Alumni Scholarship and save £400 on your fees.
