Overview:

The Early Childhood Education Site Supervisor Certificate of Achievement from College of the Desert prepares students for careers such as mentor teachers, site supervisors, and directors of private preschool programs. The program emphasizes child development, developmentally appropriate practices for young children, and the administration of early childhood programs.


Objectives:

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  • Understand child growth and development and apply developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood settings.
  • Understand the role of the mentor teacher/adult supervisor and effectively supervise and support early childhood professionals.
  • Administer early childhood programs effectively, including managing budgets, personnel, and curriculum development.
