Coaching and Coaching Psychology - HDip
The Higher Diploma in Coaching/Coaching Psychology will provide students with the skills, understanding, awareness, and knowledge to be effective coaches in both life and business domains. This course explores a positive engagement with self and the processes underpinning positive approaches to motivating others.
Course Outline
The course is designed to help students understand the theory underpinning coaching and a range of models and approaches to coaching. It will enable students to coach a coachee from a current state to a desired state and develop a reflective practice to support their coaching process.
Course Practicalities
- Class takes place on Wednesday evenings, with some weekend workshops.
- The course runs from September to June, with a combination of online lectures and face-to-face workshops in UCC Campus, Cork.
- Modules include:
- AD5004: The Skilled Coach (15 credits)
- AD5005: Coaching Project (15 credits)
- AP5812: Coaching and the Coaching Context (5 credits)
- AP5813: Coaching Approaches, Models, and Interventions (10 credits)
- AP5814: The Psychology of Coaching and Perspectives on the Self (10 credits)
- AP5815: Intra/Interpersonal Communication and Awareness (5 credits)
- Assessment is based on continuous assessment, including academic essays and reflective assignments.
