South Carolina Honors College

The Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A.R.S.C.) degree allows a student to create a customized program of study outside of traditional disciplinary boundaries. Students typically apply for this major the second semester of their first year in Honors.

Only available to Honors students, the highly selective program gives students the opportunity to create a customized major and curriculum by developing a challenging course of study tailored to specific interests and career goals when they can’t be accomplished with a double major, dual degree or other options.

What You’ll Study

Admitted students develop a unique program of study with their B.A.R.S.C. and faculty advisors. Many students use the program to begin in-depth studies of what they love before graduate school. Students often participate in undergraduate research and the South Carolina Washington Semester program.
