Department Website

The goal of this program is to educate the next generation of accelerator scientists and engineers to maintain US’s leadership in this important area of science and industry. Certificate is taken concurrently with one of the following programs:


  • Physics, MA
  • Physics, PhD
  • Physics, Specialization in Scientific Instrumentation MS
  • Quantum Information Science and Technology, MS

Certificate Requirements

Students must take 4 courses


  • PHY 554 - Fundamentals of Accelerator Physics (3 credits)
  • and three elective courses from an approved list, for a total of 12 credits.
