Overview
Widener's accelerated bachelor's in nursing ABSN program is designed for students who already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and want to pursue a rewarding career change in the field of nursing. Courses are taught on campus through an immersive, hands-on experience.

Program Overview
The accelerated BSN program (ABSN) is designed for students with an existing bachelor's degree in another discipline that want to make a career change into the nursing field. By transforming earned credits from your previous study, you can complete your ABSN in as little as four semesters.
The second-degree, accelerated BSN program is taught on campus at our Chester, PA campus located 20 minutes from both Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE. Here you'll experience the power of hands-on coursework taught by faculty mentors who continue a tradition of nursing excellence that spans more than 50 years. Courses begin in mid-August.

Curriculum & Coursework
The Accelerated Second Degree BSN program at Widener University provides students with the flexibility to complete a rigorous 15-month, full-time curriculum. Classes, laboratory sessions, and clinical experiences are scheduled during the daytime, evenings, and weekends.

Nursing Honors Program
The School of Nursing Honors Program provides opportunities for in-depth study and professional development, nurtures development as a nurse leader and educator, and prepares students for graduate school. Students will have opportunities to:

Army ROTC Program
Nursing students are a great fit for Widener's ROTC program. Here you'll strengthen critical-thinking, self-discipline, and team-building skills that can help you excel in a plethora of nursing leadership and military careers. Widener University is also a major contributor to the Army Nurse Corps officers and offers special military training opportunities for nursing majors.
ROTC cadets are eligible for generous scholarships—as high as 100% full-tuition coverage—as well as the opportunity to join the Army as a commissioned officer after graduation.

Admissions Information
- Admissions Requirements & Pre-Requisite Course:
- Completed application to Widener University.
- The application opens August 1st
- Students must have already earned a bachelor's degree or must be in the process of completing a bachelor's degree prior to the program start.
- Students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA from all previous colleges/universities attended.
- Students must complete the following pre-requisite courses from an accredited institution prior to enrolling and earn a C or better in each course.
