Concepts of Children and Young People Imaging (Level 7)
Overview
This module enables the participant to achieve and expand upon knowledge in the practice of children and young persons imaging. Participants will be operating within the healthcare environment and must have access to the prescribed clinical practice which must include a mix of acute and non-acute cases.
Aims of the Module
The aim of this module is to develop skills and understanding within general children and young persons imaging.

Entry Requirements
- A degree or diploma in diagnostic radiography.
- Currently working within a clinical department where appropriate experience of imaging and care for children and young people can be obtained.
- If English is not the first language, students must have an IELTS average score of 7.0 on entry into the course. No individual elements should be below 7.0
Career Benefits
This module is beneficial for specialist staff currently working with paediatric imaging departments or those with an interest in paediatric imaging. Professionals undertaking this module will be able to use their knowledge and skills to enhance the service they provide in accordance with their employer's policies. Completion of the module may be used as evidence to support career progression, to include musculoskeletal system reporting as part of an Advanced Practitioner role.
Assessment
Formative Assessment
Throughout the period of the module each student will keep a reflective diary/journal detailing application of the content of the module to the workplace.
In the last day of face-to-face teaching students will be requested to present an identified topic arising from the reflective diary/journal entries to their peers, for discussion and questioning as to its focus and structure in preparation for the summative assignment.
Summative Assessment
4,000-word essay
Essay is to be related to a topic of choice based on the learning from the reflective diary/journal. This assignment should demonstrate your ability to apply an aspect of learning from the module applicable to your work context and your own personal growth including participation inter professional working.
