Program Overview

The Financial Valuation of Social and Environmental Impact course is designed to provide participants with the tools to monetize social and environmental impact, facilitating efficient capital allocation and flow in the sustainable finance sector.


Course Description

Traditionally, firms, investors, and intermediaries rely on financial data to make optimal capital allocation. However, such consideration is no longer adequate in the midst of rising climate challenges and social issues. This course provides the tools to develop the logic model to map inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact, and to understand the financial valuation of social and environmental impact through the model of Social Return on Investment (SROI).


Topic Coverage

  • Understand the concept of impact assessment and different frameworks for measuring social and environmental impact.
  • Understand the concept of theory of change in impact assessment.
  • Develop the logic model to map inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact.
  • Understand the financial valuation of social and environmental impact through the model of Social Return on Investment (SROI).
  • Develop the social return on investment (SROI) model for computing social and environmental value creation.
  • Develop insights from valuation analysis to make strategic planning and investment decisions for project development and project investment.

  • Singaporeans and PRs can enjoy up to 70% subsidies.

    • Course Fees: S$2,071.00
    • Singapore Citizens & PRs aged 21 years and above: S$1,121.00
    • Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above: S$741.00

Certificate

Participants who attend all classes and pass the assessment of the course will be awarded a Certificate. This course qualifies as part of a three-course requirement for the award of a NUS Professional Certificate in Financing Sustainability. The other two courses of the requirement for the certificate are Sustainable Project Financing and Social and Sustainable Investing.
