Program Overview

The Business Analytics & Data Science program is designed for individuals who work with data to create actionable insights or define and assess the need for such insights. The program is suitable for those in tactical and strategic management roles.

Admission Requirements

• The basic admission requirements for this program include:
  • A completed academic master's degree
  • At least three years of relevant work experience
  • Sufficient knowledge of research methods and mathematics
• Although not a strict requirement, a good command of the English language is recommended, as much of the course material is in English and some lectures may be given by non-Dutch speaking instructors.
• For those with a bachelor's degree from a university of applied sciences (HBO) or a university with a typically analytical (beta) profile, it may be possible to meet the admission requirements. The focus is on an academic work and thinking level.

Program Details

• The program is one year long and consists of college days at the VU in Amsterdam, typically every Friday from 9:30 to 16:30.
• Preparation time for each college day involves 8 to 12 hours of self-study.
• The program is primarily taught in Dutch, but it is possible for some lectures to be given by English-speaking instructors. The literature used in the program is predominantly in English.

Tuition Fees

• The tuition fee for the program is set annually. For 2025, the fee is €18,950 (excluding VAT).
• A discount of €1,000 is available for those who apply before March 31, 2025, in celebration of the program's 10th anniversary.
• The tuition fee is an all-inclusive rate that covers registration as a student, education at the university during the program, use of university facilities, mandatory literature, and participation in the final INFORMS exam.
• The fee does not include travel and accommodation costs or expenses for addressing any deficiencies.

Alumni Benefit

• Individuals who have previously studied at the VU or followed a program at SBE for Professionals may be eligible for an alumni benefit when participating in a new program.
• As an alumnus, you remain part of the community, and SBE for Professionals encourages ongoing growth and maintains connections with its alumni.
