Master's Program in Computer Science
The Master's program in Computer Science offers five different specializations, allowing students to develop their individual study profiles.
Specializations
- Information Systems (Business Informatics) combines methods from computer science and business administration to solve problems in a holistic manner. Students learn to actively shape complex information needs in companies and understand how to develop information systems and applications in a creative way.
- Focus: Development of software-based systems with systematic and economic criteria.
- Software Systems focuses on the development of software-based systems, with an emphasis on systematic and economic criteria. Students develop ambitious apps and complex systems independently.
- Focus: Development of software-based systems with systematic and economic criteria.
- People-Oriented Computing (Human-Computer Interaction) deals with the human-centered design of technologies, considering aspects such as user-friendliness, security, and cultural and ethical factors. Students design interactive systems and develop the visualization of information independently.
- Focus: Human-centered design of technologies.
- Artificial Intelligence is one of the most important areas of computer science, with applications ranging from smart assistants to self-driving cars. Students learn both the basics and advanced skills in artificial intelligence.
- Focus: Development of artificial intelligence systems.
- Data Science offers training with high future potential, as big data is one of the challenges of our data-driven economy and society. Students learn to analyze large amounts of data independently, recognize patterns, and present results interactively.
- Focus: Analysis of large amounts of data.
Program Structure
The Master's program is structured to be completed in 2 years as a full-time study. A part-time study is possible with a 20% employment rate. The program consists of 90 ECTS credits, including 30 ECTS credits for the Master's thesis.
Study Plan
- 1st semester: Core courses
- 2nd semester: Specialization courses
- 3rd semester: Elective courses and Master's thesis preparation
- 4th semester: Master's thesis
Admission Requirements
We expect a university Bachelor's degree with a focus on computer science. Persons who completed their first degree some years ago are also welcome. Good English skills are important, as most courses are taught in English.
Career Prospects
With the Master's degree, you will receive advanced scientific training and have the competence to work independently, scientifically, and project-oriented. Computer scientists with a Master's degree have interesting career prospects in demanding leadership positions. Additionally, you will be qualified for a doctoral program.
Further Information
For more information on the program, please refer to the university's website.
Also, some parts of the text, such as the "Quicklinks" and "Kontakt" sections, were not relevant to the program details and were therefore omitted.
If the input contains a 404 Error or is invalid, the output would be "NA". However, in this case, the input was valid, and the output is the extracted program information in markdown format.
