CAS Europarecht
Overview
The CAS Europarecht program provides in-depth knowledge, fosters critical dialogue, and strengthens the action competence of participants. The program includes lectures and discussions, presentations, and a written paper. Lectures are held at the Europa Institute or occasionally online via the "Zoom" platform. Networking opportunities are available during the days with attendance, as well as an optional two-day study trip to the EU institutions in Brussels.

The program offers seminars on European law and Switzerland-EU relations, covering topics such as:
- Grundlagen des EU-Rechts (EU Law Fundamentals)
- EU Institutionen und Rechtsetzung (EU Institutions and Legislation)
- EU Wettbewerb- und Wirtschaftsrecht (EU Competition and Economic Law)

Teaching Staff
The teaching staff includes renowned representatives of national and international science and economy.
Course Details
- Mode: The program takes place on Friday afternoons.
- Duration: The program is held over 10 half-days, spread over 10 weekends, starting in February and ending in June.
- Language: The course is taught in German.
- Location: The Europa Institute at the University of Zurich or occasionally online via Zoom.
Performance Records
- Module 1: Grundlagen Europäische Union und Schweizerische Europapolitik (EU Fundamentals and Swiss European Policy) — Active participation
- Module 2: Abschlussarbeit (Final Paper) — Written paper on a personally chosen topic in consultation with the program management
- Attendance Requirement: At least 80% attendance is required to pass the course.
Certificate and ECTS Credits
The Faculty of Law at the University of Zurich awards successful participants the title CAS Certificate of Advanced Studies UZH in Europarecht and 13 ECTS credits.
Costs
The participation fee for the CAS program is CHF 7,000.00, including digital course materials, examination fees, and the graduation ceremony. Travel, accommodation, and food costs for the study trip to Brussels are not included.
Admission and Application
Admission requires a university degree and practical experience. In exceptional cases, individuals with comparable qualifications and specific practical experience may be admitted "sur dossier." The study commission may also require a successful admission interview.
