Nace la Cátedra ASPB-UPF de Salud Pública

Introduction

The Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Agència de Salut Pública de Barcelona (ASPB) have created the Cátedra ASPB-UPF de Salud Pública. The goal of this chair is to promote teaching, applied research, dissemination, and knowledge transfer focused on public health policies, especially in the context of Barcelona.

Objectives

The chair aims to advance the creation and transfer of knowledge in the field of public health and improve collective health with equity. The rector of the UPF, Laia de Nadal, and Marta Villanueva, president of the ASPB, have signed the agreement formalizing the collaboration between the public administration and the university.

Significance

The creation of the Cátedra ASPB-UPF de Salud Pública is considered a strategic success for the UPF, with the objective of contributing to the reduction of diseases and health inequalities. The signing act took place in the Sala de Grados del edificio Doctor Aiguader del campus del Mar de la UPF, with the participation of the consejera de salud, Olga Pané; Carme Borrell, gerente de la ASPB; and Consol Serra, profesora agregada del Departamento de Medicina y Ciencias de la Vida de la UPF (MELIS) and directora de la Cátedra de Salud Pública.
