Introduction to the Ph.D. Program in Computer Engineering
The Ph.D. title represents the highest level in academic education. The Ph.D. program in Computer Engineering offered by the University of Rome La Sapienza aims to provide the necessary skills for highly specialized research activities in various fields of Computer Engineering and concludes with the preparation of a thesis.

Program Structure

Program Requirements
The program includes:
- Participation in Ph.D. schools and courses of the Specialist Degree in Computer Engineering, and passing the related exams.
- Carrying out a research project under the supervision of a Tutor appointed by the Teaching Board.
- Preparing a thesis on original results obtained during the course.
- A final discussion on the thesis, after which the title of Doctor of Research (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering is awarded.
Admission Criteria
Admission to the course is reserved for students with a Specialist Degree in a field related to Computer Engineering or an equivalent title, properly certified. The selection of candidates takes place through a public competition, as published annually in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic.
