Overview
The Bachelor of Marine Science program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the physical and biological nature of oceans, their conservation and environmental management, and impact on human society. Throughout this degree, students will learn how to understand, observe, and define oceanographic and coastal processes, ocean biodiversity, governance, and management. They will also use emerging technologies in marine science and be trained in skills necessary for the workplace.

Academic Entry Requirements
Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia. To succeed in the chosen course, students should have completed relevant subjects in senior high school or other qualifications.
English Language Requirements
The following level of English is required to gain admission to this program:
- IELTS Academic: Overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
- TOEFL (Internet-based): Overall score of 79, with a minimum of 18 in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
- UOW College: English for Tertiary Studies: Credit (weighted average mark of 65 overall and minimum 50 in Academic Reading and Writing).

Workload
As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week. This includes class time and independent study. You may need to factor more time for examination study and practical work & placements.
