Master of Engineering
The Master of Engineering delivers expert skills and applied competencies required for the professional engineer. Designed to train and enhance professional practice, advance technical and specialist skills, this degree provides an opportunity to put theory into practice with applied projects and research.
Throughout the Master of Engineering, you will gain communication, strategic, and project management skills essential to the practicing engineer.
The Master of Engineering is professionally accredited by Engineers Australia, apart from the Management major.

Entry Requirements
- A recognized 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 60%.
- English Language Requirements:
- IELTS Academic: Overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
- TOEFL (Internet-based): Overall score of 88, with a minimum of 18 in each section.
- UOW College: English for Tertiary Studies: Credit (weighted average mark of 65 overall and minimum 50 in Academic Reading and Writing).
Workload
- Full-Time Study Load: As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week, including class time and independent study.

Credit for Prior Learning
- Applicants who have completed a major in their undergraduate degree in the same area as the Master of Engineering course may apply for credit for 24 credit points (one session).
- Applicants with a Bachelor Honours degree in the same area may apply for credit for 48 credit points (one year of full-time study).
- If you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program.
