Bachelor of Science with Honors in Geophysics
Program Description
The Geophysics program uses principles from Physics to understand the structure and dynamics of the Earth below its surface. Geophysical surveys can be used to locate energy sources, mineral and petroleum deposits, artifacts, and more. By understanding the Earth's core, Geophysicists can also assess natural hazards like earthquakes and volcanoes.
Why Study this Program?
This program is designed for students who want to reach in-depth training in a specific subject area and are drawn to scientific research. A research thesis project is embedded in each program, and students must maintain higher academic standards than those in a BSc Major degree. Students have the option to add a minor from the Faculty of Arts, Native Studies, Business, or Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences; however, doing so will reduce the amount of option courses. A double major is not available in the Honors program.
