Program Overview

The SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing is a nationally recognized course that provides a pathway to work as a hairdresser in any industry environment, usually a salon. This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation, and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients.

Requirements

  • Completion of the BKSB (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.
  • Prospective students who wish to apply for admission into this course must be employed as an apprentice with a current training contract or be an unemployed apprentice actively looking for employment under a government-funded program that allows for continued training.

Fees and Scholarships

  • Fee for service: $17,136
  • Fee for service per unit: $612
  • RPL Fee for service per unit: $459
  • Co-contribution: $1.60 per nominal hour
  • Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s funding: covers the cost of training for employers who commence an eligible new or existing apprentice or trainee in a priority qualification.
