Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Tourism Studies
The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Tourism Studies is a 5-year programme that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry. The programme is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective managers in the tourism sector.

Programme Objectives
The main objective of the Tourism Studies programme is to prepare students to become effective managers in the tourism sector whilst developing crucial transferable skills. The programme aims to:
- Understand and explain tourism within broader cultural, environmental, political, and economic dimensions of society
- Interpret and evaluate tourism as a phenomenon and as a business system
- Understand and respect the diverse nature of tourism, including culture and place, global and local perspectives
- Apply relevant technology for the production and management of tourism experiences
- Plan and organize resources for effective and efficient management of tourism organisation and operations
- Create, apply, and evaluate marketing strategies for tourism destinations and organizations
Programme Structure
The programme is taught through a variety of methods, including lectures, field-based practical sessions, seminars, and supervised independent research. Admission Criteria
The admission criteria for the programme include:

- Notes and any other requirements
- In cases where an applicant lacks essential knowledge in particular areas not covered in his/her first degree, the Faculty Board may require the applicant to follow and pass supplementary study-units at Level 4 or lower
- Applicants with a first cycle degree or a diploma who do not fully meet the requirements for admission specified above shall be required to demonstrate the learning achieved through prior experience and certification through the evaluation procedures established by the University Policy for the Recognition and Accreditation of Prior Learning
Fees
The fee per academic year for non-EU applicants is Eur 4,250.

The communication and academic skills programme complements students main course of study, introducing them to writing and presenting as situated within academic contexts sensitive to specific disciplines and developing their competences for future careers.
