Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing programme is designed to prepare students to become first-level nurses capable of providing effective evidence-based patient-centred care. The programme aims to provide students with an understanding of nursing's distinct knowledge base, as well as knowledge derived from other life and social sciences.
Programme Overview
The programme comprises both theoretical and practical components, with a diversified content designed to develop students' ability to draw upon various types of knowledge, skills, and understanding of personal wishes to guide nursing action in a variety of settings. The programme conforms to the EU's Directives on Nursing Education, securing recognition across EU member states.

The programme is divided into three years, with each year consisting of two semesters and a summer period. The programme requires students to complete a total of 180 ECTS credits, with a minimum of 2,300 hours of nursing practice.

Admission Requirements
- General Entry Requirements: Refer to the list of country-specific qualifications.
- Notes and any other requirements: Adult learners applying for admission may be required to sit for and pass an interview.
- Applicants who are not in possession of the general entry requirements or adult learners who are unsuccessful at the interview may be admitted to the Preparatory Course specifically related to Nursing.
Fees
- Fee per academic year for non-EU applicants: Eur 10,800.
Career Opportunities
On successful completion of the course, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the Malta Council for Nurses and Midwives. They will be employable in a variety of healthcare settings and engage in various roles, such as management and policy development roles. Employment and educational opportunities are prevalent across all sectors. The successful completion of the undergraduate programme also renders graduates eligible for enrolment on to Master's programmes of studies.
