Bachelorstudium Politikwissenschaft
The goal of the Bachelor's program in Political Science is to provide a fundamental understanding of the functioning of politics from the local to the global level and to introduce various theoretical and methodological analysis tools. Students will be enabled to critically and systematically examine political problems and learn to present and communicate political phenomena in their social and economic context. The program provides a comprehensive introduction to:
- The history of ideas and theoretical debates
- International politics
- The political system of Austria and the European Union
- Comparative analysis of politics
Alternative compulsory modules and elective modules allow for in-depth study and the acquisition of profession-oriented qualifications.
Graduates of the Bachelor's program in Political Science work in:

As of October 1, 2024, the Bachelor's curriculum in Political Science, Version 2024, will come into effect. This curriculum applies to all students who begin their studies in the winter semester of 2024.
Students who wish to remain in the old study plan (Version 2011) have the opportunity to complete their studies by October 31, 2027, at the latest, and can inform themselves about the equivalency regulation regarding the remaining courses to be completed.
For students who wish to switch to the new study plan (Version 2024), the recognition regulation applies.
