Sports Skill Training
The Sports Skill Training (SST) program offers a wide variety of sports skill courses to strengthen the body and help individuals become stronger and healthier. All courses are taught at the elementary level unless otherwise specified.
Schedule
The class schedules are subject to change prior to the start of the respective semester or term. If there are any changes, further notifications will be posted.
Registration
Priority registration is offered to 4-year undergraduate students who must complete the General University Requirements (GUR).
- 4-year Undergraduate Student Registration: 6 Jan 2026, 2:30 pm to 15 Jan 2026, 2:29 pm
- Full-time Student Registration: 9 Jan 2026, 2:30 pm to 15 Jan 2026, 2:29 pm Registration is done through the POSS system, by clicking "PE Programme" and choosing "PE Course Application" and then Sports Skill Training".
Attendance
- Students are required to complete 8 hours of participation to pass a course, which includes class attendance, punctuality, and proper sports attire.
- Attendance will be taken within the first five minutes of the class start.
- Late or early leave will be marked as Absent.
- Students should wear proper sportswear and sports shoes when attending the class.
- A maximum of one make-up lesson will be available for any missed lesson from the 1st to the 8th session during the 9 one-hour courses within the course period.
Health Screening
- Students should consider their own health condition and whether it is suitable for them to register in various sports activities.
- All students must assess their medical history by reviewing the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) prior to participation in sports skill training.
- For participants aged under 18, the PAR-Q should be signed by their Parents/Guardians.
GUR Healthy Lifestyle Programme
The Healthy Lifestyle Programme (HLS) is a set of courses and activities covering different dimensions of health that aims to help students build up a healthy lifestyle.
- The program has four components:
- Introductory Lecture
- Sports Training or Sports Participation
- E-Learning
- Wrap-up Lecture
- Students are required to start Component 1 before proceeding to other components.
- The completion record of Sports Skill Training will be updated in the Healthy Lifestyle System after the semester ends.
