Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Building Engineering and Management

Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Building Engineering and Management is a two-year full-time programme that provides students with an excellent opportunity to pursue an education in the building engineering and construction management profession. The programme is designed to equip students with highly specialized skills in technology, management, and communication, making them adaptable to the changing needs of the construction industry.


Programme Aims

The programme aims to provide students with the necessary expertise to plan, coordinate, supervise, and control the complex process of building projects. The curriculum is derived from the four-year full-time undergraduate programme BSc (Hons) in Building Engineering and Management.


Characteristics

  • The senior year curriculum requires students to take 69 credits and 2 training credits.
  • Site visits and guest lectures are arranged throughout the study to provide students with a better understanding of the practice in the industry.
  • The Department maintains a mentorship scheme, matching students with employers and senior members of the professions to gain practical insights into professional practice.
  • The Department operates Work-Integrated Education (WIE) in collaboration with the University to help students in placement.
  • The Department also operates a student exchange programme, providing students with opportunities to study abroad for one academic semester at universities in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, and Chinese Mainland.
