PhD in Statistics
The purpose of the PhD program is to deepen one's knowledge in Probability Theory, Statistics, Financial or Actuarial Mathematics, and to pursue independent research in these fields. The dissertation contains new results which are usually published in peer-reviewed journals.

Details of Program
The aim of the programme is to undertake research in probability, statistics, finance or actuarial science. It is expected that the research outcome is published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.

The standard time for the PhD study is 3 - 4 years.
Requirements
Application and Admission
To be admitted to the PhD program, one needs a master's or equivalent degree in Mathematics or Statistics with good or excellent grade. There are different admission requirements for applicants with a Swiss degree and applicants with an international degree.
Funding
Potential funding of a PhD project is the responsibility of the corresponding supervisor.
Graduation
As soon as the requirements set by the study regulations are fulfilled, you can apply for a formal completion of your studies through the Dean's office.
