Programme Overview
The Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Conjoint programme allows students to complete a BCom and an LLB(Hons) in less time and with fewer points than it would take to complete the two degrees separately. This programme is designed to provide students with a broad-based business education and a legal education, preparing them for a wide range of careers in business or law.
Programme Structure
The BCom/LLB(Hons) programme takes 5.5 years to complete if studied full-time, requiring students to complete 735 points:
- 255 points from BCom courses
- 465 points from LLB/LLB(Hons) courses
- 15 points from a General Education course
In the first year, students must complete three Stage I core LLB courses and five Stage I courses from the BCom. They will continue to take a mix of Law and Commerce courses in each of their second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth years.

Entry Requirements
Entry into the programme is by invitation for high-achieving Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws (BCom/LLB) Part II students. To be considered for the Honours programme in Law, students must achieve a B+ average or higher across all their law courses at the completion of LLB Part II.
Fees
The fees for the programme are as follows:
- Domestic students: NZ$8,206.80 per year
- International students: NZ$47,218 $48,133 per year These fees are inclusive of 15% GST but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel, and health insurance, or living costs.
