The Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Statistics is a comprehensive program that offers students a range of options to tailor their studies.
Structuring your Statistics major
The BSc programme consists of a number of courses worth 15 points each, totalling 360 points. Students can choose to keep their Statistics major general or follow one of the two pathways:
- Applied Statistics
- Statistics and Probability Students can also opt for a double major, which involves studying two Science subjects simultaneously.

As a Statistics student, you will take common 'core' courses in each year of study. The two available pathways are:
- Applied Statistics
- Statistics and Probability

Statistics complements all other Science majors, making it an ideal choice for a double major.
Preparing for your Statistics major
Some students may feel more prepared for Statistics courses if they have already studied science subjects in high school.
Help and advice
The Student Hubs offer help and advice on any aspect of studies and life at the University. The hubs are available seven days a week at the City, Grafton, and Tai Tonga campuses and six days a week at Tai Tokerau.
