Rural Pathway
The Melbourne Medical School offers a Rural Pathway option for the Doctor of Medicine. This unique pathway allows students to complete their entire medical degree training in rural Victoria. The Rural Pathway intake commenced in 2022, offering 30 Commonwealth-Supported Places (Bonded Medical Places) for admission into the Doctor of Medicine program.
- 15 places are reserved for graduates of La Trobe University's Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Medical) degree, based in Bendigo and Albury-Wodonga.
- The remaining 15 places are available for students who have completed an undergraduate degree and can demonstrate their rural origins and ongoing commitment to rural life.
