Subject Description

The polyvalent Bachelor of Arts in Sports Science is designed to give students a broad foundation in the field, including the historical correlations, methods, and theories of Sports Science. The subject foci in G飆tingen include Child, Youth, and School Sports, Sports in Prevention and Rehabilitation, and Contemporary History of Sports in its Economic Correlations.


Requirements

  • Good knowledge of sports motorics and human biology is required.
  • Good knowledge of the English language is also necessary; applicants with poor knowledge in these fields are suggested to improve before beginning the program.

Graduates of the B.A. program with a polyvalent profile will find occupational opportunities in the field of business, sports clubs and associations, the mass media, and health institutions, depending on their selected second subject.

Structure

In the two-subject Bachelor's program, two subjects are studied on equal terms. A total of 180 credits are earned for the Bachelor's degree Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), with each subject accounting for 66 credits and the area of professionalization accounting for 36 credits.


Admission

  • As of the summer semester 2018, a sports ability test is no longer required to take up a sports degree program.
  • Start: Winter semester only.
  • Admission: Free admission (enrollment without previous application) for the 1st to 6th subject semester.

Language and Eligibility

  • Language of the program: German.
  • Eligibility criteria vary for EU and non-EU citizens, with requirements including German language skills for non-German citizens without a German educational qualification.
